Process
Almost everyone that I have the pleasure of working with is a first-timer when it comes to working with a landscape designer. The question always comes up - how does this work? So, here’s is an ultra-concise rundown of how most projects unfold. Seven general steps to a landscape design project.
-
1. Free Consultation
We meet to look at the space, figure out your goals and to discuss what to accomplish.
-
2. Proposal
I send you a detailed proposal with my design fee
-
3. Site Analysis
I measure the space, evaluate soil, drainage, lighting, etc.
-
4. Design
I develop multiple designs that we discuss and revise to end up with a final plan.
-
5. Estimating
I coordinate with contractors to get estimates for the landscaping cost so we can discuss them together.
-
6. Installation
Bring the plan to life. I coordinate with contractors to physically install plants, patios, walls, pathways, etc.
-
7. Maintenance
I prepare easy-to-understand tips for plant care and am always available for maintenance questions in the future.
